Principal Oracle Cloud Architect Job

About the Role

We are hiring a Principal Oracle Cloud Architect job role on behalf of our global clients, including mid-market enterprises and Fortune 500 organizations currently migrating from Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Fusion.

  • Lead technical pre-sales conversations and solution scoping with CTO and IT Director-level stakeholders

  • Conduct architecture reviews and provide sign-off on delivery team designs

How we assess candidates for this role

We run a structured four-stage process designed for architect-level mandates. Total elapsed time is typically 10–14 business days from first conversation to offer.

  1. Recruiter technical screen (45 min): We verify OCI certification, live EBS version experience, and at least one full migration lifecycle. Candidates are asked to walk through a tenancy design they have personally built not a theoretical one.

  2. Architecture case study (take-home, 72 hrs): A fictional client scenario an EBS R12.2 instance on a co-located data centre being moved to OCI with a requirement to produce a one-page HLD with DR strategy and cost estimate.

  3. Technical panel (90 min, video): Two architects from our client review the case study and probe depth on OCI networking, IAM, and EBS coexistence design.

  4. Stakeholder fit conversation (30 min): With the CTO or IT Director from the client side. We prep every candidate on cultural context, meeting norms, and timezone expectations before this call.

Why candidates choose this over a direct job search

Access to mandates not advertised publicly

Most of our Oracle Cloud Architecture roles come from retained search mandates with global enterprises. They never appear on Naukri or LinkedIn.

Pre-negotiated compensation bands

We know what the client has budgeted before we start. We do not submit you unless the budget matches your expectation.

Full compliance handled for you

For EOR-based contract roles into Europe or the US, we manage all employment law, payroll, and IP agreement paperwork through our established EOR infrastructure.

Feedback regardless of outcome

Every candidate who reaches the architecture case study stage receives written feedback from our technical team whether placed or not.

FAQs

1.Do I need OCI certification before applying?

OCI Architect Associate or Professional certification is preferred but not a blocker for strong candidates with demonstrable project experience. If you have delivered two or more OCI migration projects and can show tenancy designs, architecture diagrams, or client references, we will present you to clients while you pursue certification in parallel. Several of our most successful placements started the engagement without a current cert but held one within 60 days. We can advise on fast-track preparation paths.

2.What Oracle EBS versions do your clients typically run?

The majority of our active mandates involve clients on EBS R12.2.6 to R12.2.11. A small number involve older R12.1.3 environments that have not yet upgraded. Clients in the manufacturing and distribution sectors common in Germany, the Netherlands, and the US Midwest often run heavily customised EBS with Personalizations and custom schemas. If your background is purely functional with limited technical EBS exposure, this particular role may not be the right fit.

3.Are these roles remote, or will I be required to travel?

The majority of placements are remote-first. European clients typically expect a 2-hour overlap with CET, which means availability between 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM IST for calls and architecture reviews. Travel to the client's European or US office for initial onboarding (1–2 weeks) is expected in roughly 40% of full-time placements. Contract roles are almost always fully remote. We clarify all of this before you reach the client interview stage.

4.How does the EOR contract model work for European placements?

For contract roles where the client is based in Europe, you are engaged through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement managed by AnjuSmriti Global. You remain India-based, receive your compensation in INR, and the EOR handles all cross-border employment compliance on the client's side. Your contract clearly defines IP ownership, notice periods, and deliverable scope. We walk every candidate through the contract document before signing there are no unexpected clauses.

5.What is the typical engagement duration for contract Oracle Cloud Architecture roles?

Initial contracts are typically 6-month engagements with a 3-month extension clause. In our experience, 70% of contract placements at the Principal Architect level extend at least once often because EBS-to-OCI migrations run longer than the original project timeline. We have had architects on rolling contracts with the same European enterprise client for 36+ months, which functionally becomes a long-term remote role.

6.Which Indian cities have the strongest Oracle Cloud Architecture talent?

Hyderabad and Bengaluru have the deepest Oracle talent pools largely because Oracle's India Development Centre (IDC) is in Hyderabad, and a significant number of EBS and Fusion practitioners trained there before moving to the services market. Pune has strong Oracle talent within the manufacturing ERP vertical. Chennai has growing OCI talent but the EBS-specific depth is comparatively thinner. For remote roles, city does not affect candidacy.

7.Can mid-level Oracle professionals apply?

This posting is for Principal Architect level 10 years minimum with at least two complete OCI project lifecycles. However, we work across all seniority levels for Oracle mandates. If you are a mid-level Oracle DBA, Fusion Functional Consultant, or OCI engineer at 4–8 years of experience. We will match you to appropriate mandates and reach out when a role opens.

8.How do you handle IP and confidentiality in cross-border engagements?

All placements include a standard Intellectual Property Assignment Agreement and a Non-Disclosure Agreement governing the client's proprietary systems, data, and architecture. For EOR engagements these are embedded in the employment contract. We review these documents with every candidate before the offer stage. We have not had an IP dispute in our Oracle practice in over seven years of cross-border placements.

9.What does onboarding look like for a remote Oracle Cloud Architect placed in Europe?

Onboarding runs over the first 30 days. The first two weeks cover access provisioning to the client's OCI tenancy, review of existing architecture documentation, and 1:1 meetings with the delivery team. Most European clients use Confluence and Jira both familiar to Indian Oracle architects. We provide a candidate prep pack before day one covering the client's current EBS version, OCI tenancy structure, and open architecture decisions so the architect can contribute meaningfully from week one.
